The Present Situation, Current Problems and Countermeasures to Solve them by the Material Technology Group in Chemical Companies

A questionnaire investigation about the presentsituation, current problems and countermeasure to be discussedwith by material technology groups in the eight chemicalcompanies was carried out. It has become clear from the analysisof answers obtained that the roll of material group has beenchanging under the diminishing construction of new plant and theincreased needs of stable and sustainable plant operation. Thepresent major subjects of material groups, which are pointed out inthe answers, are such new technological problems as the plant lifeestimation, the dissemination and handing down of materialtechnology and the upbringing of technology successors. Thecountermeasures to meet those requirements made clear are suchtechnology developments as a new monitoring system, preparationof database on material technology and closer cooperation withrelated associations. It is hoped for that the findings of this studywould lead to further and more detailed identification of commonproblems to be solved and development of practical countermeasures therefor.
