We performed experiments to confirm the applicability of acoustic microscopy for evaluating intergranular corrosion of austenitic stainless steel. Surface wave velocity was slightly increased by cold-working, but was not affected by surface roughness, solution heat treatment, or sensitizing treatment. On specimens corroded in Strauss solution, surface wave velocity decreased with sensitizing time at various temperatures.
