Observation on the structure of anterior alimentary tract of mycetophagous females of Iotonchium ungulatum (Tylenchida: Iotonchiidae).

Mycetophagous females of Iotonchium ungulatum inhabit the knots produced on the gills of fruiting bodies of the oyster mushroom, Pleurotus ostreatus and are supposed to feed on hyphae forming knots. The structure of the alimentary tract of mycetophagous females is described and compared with that of I. californicum and Hexatylus viviparus.
