The composting conditions of coffee grounds were examined. The results showed: (1) coffee grounds stored in piles outdoors for six months inhibited the root growth of Chinese mustard (Brassica juncea); (2) when composting coffee grounds with bark, the proportion of coffee grounds had to be <30%, the content of chicken droppings and urea were 25 g/kg and 5 g/kg, respectively, and the composting period was more than three months.
