摘要

An Yb3+: YAl3(BO3)(4)/YAl3(BO3)(4) composite is obtained by the segmented crystal growth method. Diode-pumped laser operation is demonstrated in the 2.0 mm thick, (001)-oriented composite with a 0.8 mm thick, 9.5 at% Yb3+ : YAl3(BO3)(4) crystal segment. Under the absorbed pump power of 11.9W, quasi-continuous-wave output powers of 0.82W with a slope efficiency of nearly 20% and of 0.3 W with a slope efficiency of 10.5% around 1040 nm are achieved in hemispherical and plano-plano cavities, respectively.
