Real-Time and Time-Lapse LWD Images for Geosteering and Formation Evaluation

Part of the depleted Breitbrunn gas field in Bavaria, Germany, was converted into a gas storage sand. A detailed geological and petrophysical study was prepared before drilling that enabled identification of high-quality reservoir layers that were tareted by the horizontal wells. The adopted geosteering approach relies on real-time resistivity images.
