AM1 treatment of silaannulenic cyclacenes

Cyclacenes having one of the peripheral circuits completely silated are investigated within the framework of semiempirical molecular orbital calculations at the level of Austin Model 1 (AM1) type. The cryptoannulenic effect predicted for some properties of the parent cyclacenes is partly or completely lost in the case of silaannulenic derivatives.
