摘要

The Pan-Tompkins algorithm is a powerful tool for detecting the QRS complexes of Electrocardiogram (ECG) signals. For this purpose, an analog pre-processing stage for implementing the Pan-Tompkins algorithm is introduced in this paper, where the concept of the Sinh-Domain filtering is followed. More specifically, bandpass and lowpass filters, as well as differentiator and squarer blocks have been utilized and their realization is done using appropriately configured non-linear transconductors. Due to its companding nature and the employment of MOS transistors in the sub-threshold region, the proposed system is capable for operating in an ultra-low voltage environment. The performance of the intermediate building blocks and the behavior of the whole system have been evaluated using the Analog Design Environment of the Cadence software and the design kit provided by the AMS 0.35 μm CMOS process.
