World irrigation (X): agricultural land and water development in Latin America (Part I)

摘要

This paper aims to highlight the problems of land and water development and use, and future prospects in Latin American countries. In view of the fact that irrigation itself is a rather straightforward engineering work, emphasis is placed on socio-economic and political issues related to agricultural land development and use. Human aspects have also been given considerable attention. All reference materials are listed at the end of part II.
