A dorsally located giant posterior fossa neurenteric cyst in a Chinese woman

Neurenteric cysts (NC) are rare, endodermal-derived intracranial lesions, commonly located anteriorly in the posterior cranial fossa. We describe a rare case of a giant posterior fossa NC (6.5 x 5.9 x 4.3 cm) located dorsal to the brain stem in a Chinese woman with a 1 week history of cerebellar symptoms. To our knowledge, this is the largest documented cyst of this type and the third dorsally located NC in the posterior fossa. (C) 2014 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
