High School Chemistry Instructional Practices and Their Association with College Chemistry Grades

Nearly half of the students graduating from high school in 2005 (47.4%) entered four-year colleges or universities (1). Data from the National Educational Longitudinal Study of 1988 shows more than 90% of science teachers place a moderate-to-major emphasis on college preparation (2).
