A gene network is described as a probabilistic algorithm. A probabilistic algorithm depends on the set of parameters and the parameters of the probabilistic algorithm correspond to levels of gene expression. The analogy between the phenomenon of gene duplication and the replica procedure applied in the statistical physics of complex systems is discussed. The replica symmetry in the approach considered corresponds to gene duplication for the case of neutral evolution. A maximal increasing sequence is considered and a map is constructed as the sum of the two independent maps acting at each of the coordinate. The natural replica procedure for the described example of a hierarchical HMM is constructed.
