Tyco Electronics notes that its SFL2500 material is the first fully flame-retardant, heat-shrinkable, dual-wall tubing available.The material was made possible by developing a hot-melt adhesive with full flame retardancy and self-extinguishing characteristics that also provides optimal flow, adhesion and mechanical properties for sealing and protection, the company noted. The dual-wall tubing makes a tough, cross-linked, flame-retardant polyolefin tubing that is lined with the flame-retardant adhesive rated to 135(C for 3000 hr.
