There is a widespread belief that cats need less veterinary attention than dogs. This perception of cats being more independent, living indoors and rarely requiring vaccinations has reinforced the misconception that cats should visit the vets less often than dogs. In fact, cats require a different approach. Cats can actually be quite demanding as they require specific technical knowledge, separate equipment and need to be handled with patience and examined differently to other animals.
