A generous offer from Marcos and Lynn Kottakis to spend five nights fishing the untouched, rarely fished waters of the outer Great Barrier Reef system left me impatient to get started. Their boat, MV Centurion had taken twelve years to come to fruition but was well worth the wait. At 24 metres (80 feet) long with a beam of 5.9 metres it is a very substantial vessel indeed, and one that is ideally suited to long-range charter work such as the upcoming adventure promised.
