The stability of pharmaceuticals and biological products is a major challenge for the industry. While some preparations have adequate stability as a liquid formulation, many biological molecules must be dried in order to achieve shelf-lives compatible with a commercial product. In addition, the technology for conducting freeze-drying and sample analysis is continually improving.
