A VPO catalyst prepared by the reactionof vanadium pen-toxide and isobutyl alcohol/benzyl alcohol in the presence of polyethylene glycol with the molecular weight of 2000 (PEG2000) was found to be highly selective and active for the conversion of n-butane to maleic anhydride.
