There are several things in life which we all consider 'necessary evils.' Vibration fixtures fall into that category of things. If we could mount our test articles directly to the shaker armatures, the use of tooling - vibration fixtures - would not be required. However, it is unlikely that the shaker armature's mounting pattern will match your test article's interface locations, so vibration fixtures are necessary.
