Tsunami Recurrence versus Tsunami Height Distribution Along the Coast

The tsunami frequency of occurrence (recurrence function) is the main functional parameter for description of tsunami activity and one of the most serious problems is to establish its form. It is the main parameter of the tsunami probability model and it is needed as the foundation for tsunami zoning and insurance strategy. Theoretical investigation of the tsunami frequency-size function for selected coastal points, together with tsunami height distribution along the coast, allows one to find the relationship between these distributions. Some exact results regarding the structure of the tsunami frequency-size function are derived.
