摘要

Raising awareness of cancer risk factors has been designated a priority area in European Union public health policy to help reduce the incidence of cancers attributable to lifestyle factors. However people may fail to recognise the personal relevance of such information (e.g. Peretti-Watel et al., 2007). The present study aimed to determine the level of risk factor exposure people think is required to increase cancer risk, and whether being above this threshold predicted perceived personal cancer risk, cancer worry and behavioural intentions in relation to smoking, alcohol intake and body weight.
