摘要

1D heterometallic coordination polymer of [(Fe-II(L)(2))(Mn-III(salen)(ClO4) center dot 2CH(3)CN center dot CH3OH] (1 center dot 2CH(3)CN center dot CH3OH) has been built through a metalloligand approach (L = hydrotris (1,2,4-triazolyl)borate). Ferrous [Fe-II(L)(2)] moiety can be easily incorporated into further extended networks by the facile reduction of ferric antiprismatic [Fe-III(L)(2)](+) metalloligand due to the reducing ability of borate ligands during the reaction. And more, hydroquinone facilitates the reduction. Therefore, we present single crystal X-ray structure analysis of 1 center dot 2CH(3)CN center dot CH3OH along with X-ray absorption spectroscopy to confirm the reduction of iron centres.
