Australasian Biosolids Partnership

The Australasian Biosolids Partnership will shortly commission two key research projects that will enable it to further its objectives of:rn1. Supporting public engagement with respect to the sustainable management of biosolids in Australiarn2. Supporting the Australasian water industry on technical and regulatory components of biosolids management.rnThe first of these is a community attitudinal survey. The intent of this work is to determine attitudes towards aspects of the management and use of biosolids among key stakeholders.rnIt is not proposed that this should be a general survey, because most people in the community have very little or no knowledge of biosolids and their views may change very rapidly in the face of controversy or a decision to use biosolids in their area. Rather, the idea is to identify those stakeholders who may be influential in the biosolids debate or the market for biosolids and to understand their attitudes and concerns. These stakeholders would include regulators, users (e.g. farmers), legislators, scientists and others.
