According to Jeremy Myerson and Philip Ross, two of the more erudite writers on office design, the future workplace will fall into one of four categories. 'Academy' is a learning campus in which the employer propagates a 'more collegiate and collaborative' approach to work. 'Guild' describes professional clusters that share a skill, harking back to crafts-style workshops. 'Agora' is a workplace where a corporation blurs boundaries between private and public, making itself appear transparent, while 'lodge' is a live-work setting.
