A decade of bi-directional MFL inspection applications

This article reviews various pipeline inspection projects that have used 3P Services’ bi-directional inspectionntechnologies. While this technique finds application in a number of scenarios where pipelines have been constructednwithout regard to internal inspection, the case histories here concentrate on tanker loading/unloading pipelines andnNorth Sea applications. The focus of the article evaluates the different technical challenges encountered on each project:nadvantages and disadvantages are discussed compared to inspection alternatives.
