摘要

The 813 mm diameter Russia-China crude oil pipeline (RCCOP) enters northeast China at Lianyin, Mo’he County,nHeilongjiang Province, and crosses 441 km of discontinuous, sporadic and isolated patches of warm permafrost, andn512 km of seasonally frozen ground, before reaching Daqing.nTo mitigate the hazards resulting from differential frost and thaw settlement of the pipeline, a design based on thenanalysis of stress/strain between the pipe and the surrounding soils, and criteria for pipeline safety and failure, werenproposed and applied in engineering practice.
