In a procedure for laying pipelines in ground of low or varying support, like moorland, karst or permafrost, the pipeline(1) is joined to a flat mesh (2) that is essentially horizontal in the surrounding ground, the mesh being made of flexible but inelastic plastic. The plastic has an elastic or adhesive covering layer. It is wound around the pipeline in a strip and externally anchored in the ground.
