Eighty-three companies responded to our questionnaire at Ocean Business 2009 and the vast majority reported strong growth in sales, people employed and R&D investment. The same companies expected this growth to continue over the coming 12 months although nearly 10% were expecting a decrease in sales for their businesses. Understandably, gaining new leads and networking came top of the list for nearly 80% of companies as their reasons for exhibiting at a trade show. This is clearly reflected in the take up of space for OB2011, which is well ahead on the equivalent period for 2009. The final report will be circulated to all AMSI members in due course.
