Following a tendering process announced in October, the UK Maritime and Coastguard Agency has announced the organisations that have been approved as authorised testing application service providers for testing shipborne LRIT equipment on board UK-flagged vessels. Testing of shipborne equipment may now commence to ensure that vessels are LRIT-compliant before 31 December 2008 The six organisations that are able to attend UK vessels to ensure that the LRIT shipborne equipment complies with IMO Resolution MSC1 / 1257 are:
