Cammell Laird Back In Business

After a gap of more than seven years the Cammell Laird name was once again added to the list of active British shipbuilders and repairers on 17 November. Since the demise of the company in 2001, a small group of Cammell Laird's former management team led by managing director John Syvret has steadily built up a new company at the shipyard under the name Northwestern Shiprepairers and Shipbuilders. The right to use the name Cammell Laird was bought from the receiver some time ago, but the company wanted to put itself on a firm financial footing before reviving it.
