First Find of Paleosoils in the Devonian Red Deposits of the Middle Timan

In the past few decades, a significant volume of information concerning paleosoils has been obtained in our country and abroad. However, most of this is related to the Permian, Triassic, Paleogene, Neogene, and rare Carboniferous sedimentary formations [1,3, 8]. Finds of paleosoils in the Devonian deposits are rare for several reasons [9]. In the beginning of the 1970s, paleosoils were described by V.I. Chalyshev in the Permian and Triassic red deposits, in the northern part of the Pre-Uralian Foredeep on the territory of the Komi Republic [4, 5].
