The First Results of Mass U-Pb Isotope Dating (LA-ICP-MS) for Detrital Zircons from the Asha Group, South Urals: Paleogeography and Paleotectonics

The modern concepts on the structure and evolution of the Uralian thrust-fold belt are presented in [1, 2]. These works develop the concept by N.P. Kheraskov [3], who was the first to distinguish two groups of geological structures, i.e., the Uralides and Pre-Ural ides-Timanides, which are widespread in the Urals and differ in age. The age of Uralides spans the time interval from the Late Cambrian until the Late Paleozoic. Late Precambrian or rarely Early Precambrian units (Pre-Uralides-Timanides) are divided from the Uralides by a stratigraphic or sometimes a clear structural unconformity.
