We bought one last year and the other is from 1993. Both cars have computers in the engines. My mechanic only half-jokingly says, "A car engine is just about the worst place you could put a computer. It's dirty, the temperature goes from cold to very hot very quickly, and there's all kinds of rattling around. Plus, if something goes wrong with the computer, you're screwed because there's not much you're going to fix in your backyard anymore."
