Cathy H.C. Hsu – a role model

For me, to craf a portrait of Dr. Cathy H. C. Hsu, a leader in our feld, is no small task. Cathy is aChair Professor at Te Hong Kong Polytechnic University’s (PolyU) School of Hotel and TourismManagement and has been the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Teaching in Travel & Tourism for the past16 years. Included in her extensive list of accolades are the following: she is a Fellow of the InternationalAcademy for the Study of Tourism (the youngest academic ever to be elected to the organization); arecipient of John Wiley & Sons Lifetime Research Achievement Award and Michael D. Olsen ResearchAchievement Award; and has served as the editor, co-editor, and/or editorial board member of over10 academic journals. Cathy is unfailingly elegant, composed, and possesses a refreshing tenacity thatsets her apart as a role model and inspiration for many.
