Integrating Human Factors into the Safety Chain: A Report on International Air Transport Association's (IATA) Human Factors'98

The format and organization of the IATA Human Factors '98 Conference, which had expert presentations in the morning Sessions and followed by concurrent workshops discussion in the Afternoon, proved to be highly effective. Over the three days, the Conference objectives to integrate human factors into the safety Chain, share information, and to use the accumulated information And knowledge in decision-making were achieved. The continuous Implementation of advanced technology in both air and ground Aviation systems requires us to continue to make strides in those Areas discussed in this brief overview of the conference. In this Regard, IATA must be applauded for its vision and leadership in An important area of aviation systems safety.
