Epithelial - mesenchymal transition ( EMT ) describes the loss of the epith - elial cell polarity and epithelial phenotype,such as the connections with the basement membrane. It is a biological process to express the mesenchymal phenotype through a specific program and gain the abilities of invasion, metastasis, anti -apoptosis and extracellular matrix degradation which are associated with the tumor invasion and metastasis. The cell signaling pathways involved in the process including TGF - β signaling pathway, PI3 K/AKT pathway, Notch signaling pathway, Wnt signaling pathway and so on. This review summarizes the current progress in the research field of EMT and the role of EMT in tumor invasion and metastasis.%上皮间质转化(epithelial-mesenchymal transition,EMT )是指上皮细胞失去极性,失去与基底膜的连接等上皮表型,通过特定程序转化为具有间质表型的生物学过程,从而获得了较高的迁移与侵袭、抗凋亡和降解细胞外基质的能力,与肿瘤的侵袭转移密切相关.参与这一过程的细胞内信号转导途径主要有:TGF-β信号途径、PI3K/AKT途径、Notch信号通路、Wnt信号通路等.本文就EMT在肿瘤侵袭转移中的作用及其分子机制的研究作一综述.
