Based on the contents and the commonly used methods of risk identification of the slope, the hazard assessment index system and quantitative criteria of red sandstone bedding slope were built. A method of determining the slope failure probability was put forward. The constitution and evaluation method of the vulnerability, and the acceptable level of risk of slope were studied. Combined with the engineering example, landslide risk of No. 1 creep deformation of some red sandstone slopes in western Hunan was assessmented. Demolition, slope treatment, monitoring forecast and other risk management measures were taken.
