Thernincredible amounts of data can be saved in electronicrnformats at reasonable costs with the development of latestrndata processing and storage technologies. The field ofrndata mining addresses the question of how best to use thisrnvast amount of historical data to discover generalrnregularities and improve the process of making decisions.rnThe concept of data mining is gaining acceptance byrnmany companies as a means of seeking higher profits andrnlower costs. This research will review several importantrnconcepts of data mining and will survey many companiesrnthrough questionnaires. After receiving survey results,rnthe authors will analyze profits/costs effects by datarnmining while comparing these effects by SIC indexes.
