Kalaidjieva’s (1999) seven levels of complexity of intelligence are discussed in therncontext of living systems theory (LST) (Miller, 1978; Swanson & Miller, 2001). Thernlevels of intelligence are defined on the concept of decision making within a perceptualmotorrnarch (a sense-response construct). The discussion focuses on the increasingrncomplexity of intelligence as life progresses to higher levels. The evolution of life fromrnthe relatively simply to the more complex underlies the advancing technology of therncurrent information age, and, indeed, systems thinking itself. An important element ofrnmodern information technology is the historical and continuing development of moneyinformation.rnThe discussion identifies important aspects of decision making thatrndistinguish each higher level of complex intelligence, moving through biological,rnpsychological, and sociological senses. The place and importance of money-informationrnin modern sociological intelligence is examined.
