MARS EXPLORATION: THE HUMAN ASPECT. IMPACT OF EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL EXPLORATION ON HUMANITY

Since the dawn of humanity, human beings have been questioning about the source of life, the origin of the Universe, the manner in which stars, sun and moon were formed or created and by whom. Cosmogonias, cosmic myths, religions, have answered in very different ways. On the other hand, an ancient and very popular myth was Icaro' desire to fly, myth translated into reality starting from Leonardo' flying machine. When for the first time Yuri Gagarin left Earth surface and entered into the terrestrial orbyt opening the new view of our Planet, from the oustide, the impact on public opinion and imagination was enormous. People begun to feel that the ancient dream became reality and that humanity could leave mother earth to running out open and deep space. Now, we can imagine and even prepare next generation of human beings, those that will be able to live outisde the Earth.
