Carbon dioxide,one of the main components of greenhouse gas,recently becomes the target to be reduced in order to slowdown the global warming.Various methods have been proposed.Among them,using amine solutions to capture CO2 is the most mature one and has been applied into industry.However,the energy penalty is the disadvantage of this method that needed to overcome.The amine solvents that change from homogeneous into liquidliquid or solid-liquid phases after CO2 absorption is named phase change solvents(LLPS and SLPS solvents,respectively).These solvents are expected to reduce the consumed energy in regeneration process by regenerating only the CO2-rich phase or by accelerating the regeneration stage via the interaction of between solvent components.Absorption heat is an important property in solvent/process designs and process simulation.The absorption heat in LLPS and SLPS solvents were investigated at 40°C(i.e.absorption temperature).(1)This study presents the further examination into the temperature dependence of absorption heat with LLPS and SLPS solvents in CO2 capture.The phase change point where there is a leap in absorption heat was recorded in absorption heat curve was confirmed with ocular observation as well.
