This Energy Procedia issue includes a selection from the best research papers presented at the EENVIRO 2016 Conference which took place between 26-28 of October, Bucharest, Romania. The conference was organized by the Technical University of Civil Engineering Bucharest in collaboration with the Romanian Academy. The organizing committee and the editors are grateful for the possibility of receiving as guests this year ones of the most important specialists in our fields. Worldwide recognized personalities, Hazim Awbi, Risto Kosonen, Dennis Loveday, Walter Bosschaerts, Jean Luc Achard and Abdullahi Ahmed, delivered us inspiring key note lectures on subjects of most importance. The organizing committee is very proud of the possibility offered to younger colleagues to meet in person such personalities.
