Based in the adsorption of As(III) onto graphene surface electrode, was developed a simple and sensitive method by Anodic Stripping Voltammetry (ASV). The sensitivity of the analytical method was 4.53 Na μg/L (RSD = 5%) with a detection limit of 0.25 μg/L. The lineal response was in the range 0.1 to 5.0 μg/L using buffer phosphate 0.01mol/L pH 6.5. Some common metals were evaluated and did not present significant interference at concentrations lower than 700 μg/L. The method was applied for determination of total arsenic in water samples from the Loa River in the North of Chile, obtaining satisfactory results (RE: 1.26%). Measurements did not require the used of hazardous solvent, offering a more rapid procedure with improved analytical characteristics in comparison with the current ones.
