Pauses in manufacturing machinery work cause loss in factory efficiency and productivity. Detection of machinery utilization and pauses identification can give additional information for production planning and increase manufacturing efficiency. Information about machinery utilization can be processed offline to analyse past situations, but it can be also used for real time decisions. Using wireless sensors and Labview programming environment, prototype for machinery status and pauses identification was designed and introduced. Based on the prototype, proposals for industrial machinery utilization monitoring have been given.
