Several experiments have been performed to study regularities in the induction of apoptotic cells in human lymphocytes by ~(60)Co γ-rays at different times after irradiation. Apoptosis induction by ~(60)Co γ-rays in human lymphocytes in different cell cycle phases (Go, S, G_1, and G_2) has been studied. The maximal apoptosis output in lymphocyte cells was observed in the S phase. Modifying effect of replicative and reparative DNA synthesis inhibitors-1-β-Darabinofuranosylcytosine (Ara-C) and hydroxyurea (Hu) – on the kinetics of ~(60)Co γ-rays induced apoptosis in human lymphocytes has been studied.
