At several BF plants, top fired stoves have been introduced as an additional option beside the classic stoves with either internal or external combustion chamber. Paul Wurth developed a new top fired stove based on a "multi nozzle design". After successful installation in an existing stove plant commissioning and operation have shown proper combustion behavior with good mixing of gas and combustion air and an optimum waste gas analysis. The continuous operation has verified design and reliability of the new stove type. The paper shows technical features and layout principles as well as performance data.
