摘要

This paper is concerned with the use of fully automated longwall control systems in Chinese coal mines. Recent records of automated longwall systems delivered by international suppliers into China are opening possibilities to increase coal production mostly by using machinery manufactured outside of China. Our paper defines an approach to reach to goal of higher productivity with less costly investment in machinery. We propose the use of appropriate existing Chinese products together with available cost-effective control systems imported from Germany. In the past the operation of shearer longwall systems in coal seams often resulted in low coal output or the requirement for a large operating team, to press all the required buttons, while the shearer machine is quickly cutting through the coal face. But it is not the single roof supports alone that have to be controlled to reach the goal for an automated high efficient mine.
