Fatigue crack growth in the threshold regime: a consideration by means of a discrete dislocation model

摘要

In the threshold regime the crack growth is in the region of a few Burgers vectors, where the discreteness of plasticity may become important. We have developed a discrete dislocation model in order to study the influence of the discrete nature of plasticity on fatigue cracks. It is shown that the prediction of the model is in a good agreement with real material behaviour.
