The Foxtrot Field and the South Bravo Field are the second and third largest waterflood field located in the North Roger Block, Indonesia from the standpoint of Original Oil in Place (OOIP), cumulative oil and daily production. A total of 716 wells have been drilled in both fields since first oil in 1972. Peripheral waterflood has been applied as an enhanced oil recovery method. In 2014, both fields now have a total of 105 inactive producing wells due to low productivity and operational problems. Reactivating and optimizing inactive wells is one of the methods of maximizing oil recovery from brown fields. However, commonly there is no standard method to prioritize reactivation well candidates. As an effort to maximize oil recovery from existing waterflood field, a reservoir simulation study was conducted in 2014 and one of the simulation study results was identifying remaining opportunities from currently inactive producers. This study focusses on integrating a numerical simulation and statistical approach to mature reactivation candidates. Numerical reservoir simulation identified 38 out of 105 inactive wells that still have economic viability to be reactivated. The statistical scoring system was made based on remaining reserves and production forecasts from simulation, the actual historical well data, log data, geological assessment, surrounding wells performance and surface facility readiness. A prioritization was generated and ranked those 38 inactive wells using an integration of numerical & statistical methods to mature reactivation opportunities. This new prioritization method has increased the success ratio from 50% to 80%.
