Limitations of MT static shift corrections using time-domain EM data.

For the last 30 years, co-located transient EM soundings have been the preferred method for correcting apparent MT static shift. We show that this combination can produce fallacious results, and that, with modern broad-band MT instrumentation, complete modeling of the topography is more likely to give a correct image of the subsurface.
