"Two loops – five functions": New hydraulic design and components for self propelled forage harvesters The new John Deere series 8000 self propelled forage harvester features an innovative hydraulic design for the Header and the Feedroll Drive, i.e. the combination of these two closed loop hydrostatic circuits on demand by means of a valve block. This way additional important functions of the forage harvester are realized without additional pumps or motors. The Feedroll Drive itself includes a new patented function which stops the Feedrolls before foreign material/metal is able to reach the Cutter Head. This fast and reliable stop function avoids cost intensive damages to the Cutter Head.
